Encourage and Uplift Autism

Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted. Here is why.

Yeah, it's the summer and it is seriously one of the busiest summers I have ever had. No, seriously it's busy. Doodle has her sensory swing and tons of play dates. I really wish I had the energy that she has. The only thing that I have managed was to get off my sleep schedule. Thank you youtube, my secret pleasure for unwinding at night.

I have so many things going on right now that yesterday was hard to juggle anything. My video editing program flipped me off and put itself in time out. Really?? You're going to do that to me. Alvin and the Chipmunks got banned from the house last week and now it's a Veggie Tales rotation. For those who have children on the spectrum you know the endless loop drives you insane sometimes. Well, I could only take 5 straight weeks of Alvin and the Chipmunks. I can handle a few weeks of silly songs.

Mud and water are still Doodle's favorite way of stemming besides the sensory swing. Trampoline time, not so much.

Another business opportunity came up and so I'm working on that with someone. When you deal with business as much as I do you can't help but take the good opportunities. It gives me a short break from autism, which is one thing that I am looking forward too. You need those opportunities to take a breather. Mommy breaks as I like to call them.

This business opportunity goes right along the same lines that I truly like. I started my publishing company with less then $500. Well, how low of a budget can you start a business. This time around I'm working on less then $50.00. The difference between this one and the publishing company is I won't need all the programs for this business. It's just hands on mom fun. A way to de-stress and un-wind. Socialization! The one thing that most of us raising children on the spectrum don't really get.

Seriously, I spend 24/7 with Doodle. Some days are better then others. I can't wait for school to go back into session.

In the autism group that I'm in a step mom posted that she was full time caregiver of her step daughter because the bio mom couldn't hack it anymore. Right now the step mom is wanting out to have some socialization. I can sympathize on this. And no matter if it's a step parent or a bio parent, it's still the same thing. You can't be a recluse. That just makes things ugly. For you and all the people around you.

I can't stress this enough that you have to at least get out for yourself twice a month to recharge your batteries. If you don't you are only damaging yourself. You can't successfully parent even a child on the spectrum if you are constantly drained and can't think.

So what does my day consist of? Well, it's a business meeting and then on to a play date as soon as I post this blog. Tonight is a party which I'm looking forward too and after that I am going to be creating some videos that will be posting later in the week. So yeah, you can see it's going to one long day. But I'm not going to complain. To me this is normal. A typical day. The videos are not going to be posted on here. It's for another project that I do with another person.

Well, on that note it's time to get Doodle and I ready for today.

You guys have a great day!
